Kenya 7s will take on South Africa in Singapore 7s cup quarter final to be played tomorrow at the National stadium. Shujaa qualified after seeing off a hard fighting USA 33-14.

Going in to the final group B match, Innocent Simiyu’s charges required a win or a draw to progress.

Willy Ambaka set the pace, with impressive footwork that left Barrett clutching at thin air to go over.

With Kenya dominating USA physically, Sammy Oliech was next on the line, with a strong hand off, on his way to make the 2nd try.

USA got a replay through Kevon Williams who was at hand to collect Captain Madison Hughes pass, before curtailing Kenya’s lead to just 5 points.

Kenya would eventually have the last laugh, Oliech putting his foot on the gas to notch up a brace, before a beautiful interplay between Andrew and Agero, ensured the former scored his 50th try.

Captain Oscar Ouma scored his first try in the tournament for Shujaa to take a 33-7 lead.

Late efforts from the opponents saw Brett Thompson score a try but it was too little to late as Kenya set up a quarterfinals berth with Springbok of South Africa.
