Kentice Tikolo to chair FKF electoral board

Nairobi, Kenya. February, 3rd 2020: Communication expert Kentice Tikolo will chair the football Kenya federation electoral board. The board that consist of five members was adopted last week, during the federations special general meeting at a Nairobi hotel. Kentice was nominated alongside sports management consultant at FIFA Patrick Onyango, Sam Karanja, Journalist Ali Hassan Kauleni and former referee Alfred Ndinya.

The Board was on Monday 3rd Feb 2020, unveiled at the federation’s offices in Kasarani.

“It’s an honor for us to be picked to take this process of the FKF elections forward.  We have accepted this nomination and we want to assure the country, that we are taking this process very seriously. We want to ensure that it is going to be a transparent and very open process. we want to make sure that the public is involved as it should be” Said board Chair Kentice Tikolo

“We will follow the electoral code to the letter, and we want to ensure that through this process out own credibility is also upheld. We want to show the country that is it possible to do things right.” Added Tikolo

With Only two months to facilitate a free and fair election, the board has hit the ground running and is expected to make public the election calendar on Friday 7th February 2020.

“Our first assignment is  to put together the electoral calendar. The calendar should be out by 7th February and this calendar is going to be put together based on the FIFA requirement, that we must have the elections by 30th of march.”

On 3rd December 2019, the sports dispute tribunal (SDT) nullified the football Kenya federation polls on grounds that the Electoral board was not properly constituted and that sufficient public participation was not undertaken.

With slightly under two months to operate, the New board is optimistic of delivering a new office by the end of the first quarter.
